The Baton is completely hand-made and weighs 0.2 ounce and is
perfectly balanced. The wood handle is a miniature hollow-form. It is
then turned on the lathe from selected, highly figured and spalted
Sugar Maple with a wall thickness of .030". An Ebony insert is turned
and secured into the end of the handle to capture and secure the shaft.

The shaft itself is made from straight grained Sugar Maple or similar
hard wood, skewed on the lathe and tapered from .187" to .050" at the tip.
A hard resin finish is applied and hand polished to a satin finish.

The baton is then completed, calligraphed with the name of
the Conductor, maker and dated.
